Product Description This is the Intelli IMT-600 Auto Tuner, which is an upgrade to the IMT-500. It has a mode selector switch to choose between Chromatic, Violin and Guitar modes. The IMT-600 is a clip style tuner that picks up vibration directly from the instrument. It can be used on a noisy stage because it ignores distracting noise that can confuse other tuners. It attaches easily to any instrument and has an easy-to-read LCD meter that acts like an analog meter. The Backlit LCD panel illuminates making it easy to see in the dark. Some of the technical specs are: Calibrate from A = 430 to 449Hz with 1Hz step. Quadra flat tuning - no need to remove a capo to tune your guitar. Tuning range: 12-note full range chromatic, A2-B7. Tolerance: +/ 0.5 cents, uses Quartz Crystal. Clearly shows how sharp or flat you are in cents. Powers off after 3 minutes to save battery life. Power source: Coin battery 3volt (CR2032) (included). Overall Dimensions: 45x45x55.8mm, (body only 45x45x14mm). Weight: Approx. 50g (including battery)

Exactly the Way It Should Be for 6- & 12-String Guitars - Worked for Acoustic Bass, Too January 11, 2010 Scott Rauch (York, PA) 9 out of 9 found this review helpful
Watch Video Here: http://www.amazon.com/review/RK2BDCFB3J79C Many reviews on this tuner and its brothers have mentioned slowness on acquiring the guitar low E. This video shows how minor (or even non-existent) the issue is if you put the tuner on the side of the headstock closest to the low E.
If you VIEW the video in FULL SCREEN, you can see the digital pointer, and how it moves as the two low E's on a 12-string guitar are tuned up to correct pitch.
Sorry about video quality (Amazon reduces their quality) and the cars in the background (I needed lots of light in the background, and I did not want to bring my guitar out into the snow).
The tuner also worked for a friend's acoustic/electric bass guitar. It took about a second to get the low E (on the bass guitar, remember), but it got it. He was able to tune his bass, and I my 12-string while a piano was playing (we were about 10 feet behind the soundboard of an upright acoustic piano that was also being amplified). Great tuner!!
When the Mode Selector Switch is set to "Chromatic", the tuner allows you to tune to any note, and the display will indicate the note, e.g., "D#". When the Mode Selector Switch is set to "Guitar" or "Violin", the tuner allows you to tune only to those notes that exist on a standard-tuned guitar or violin. E.g., when set to "Guitar", it allows you to tune only to the six standard guitar notes, and will display either "6E", "5A", "4D", "3G", "2B", or "1E". The Mode Selector Switch seems to have no affect on the tuner's performance. (This is a good thing because it works perfectly.)
COULD NOT BE HAPPIER! February 13, 2010 Moodster (Miami, FL USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
Amazing value. My acoustic guitar comes with an internal tuner so I got one of these for my electric and one for my neice's violin. Wow, I just clip it on the head of the guitar and cannot believe that it picks up the vibrations on an electric without the need to get it closer to the strings. This is really amazing to me, and the backlight is just an AWESOME plus. I truly recomend this! It is much smaller than what it looks like, it is about 1.5" square. You don't need anything else if you play violin or guitar as a hobby and if you're a traveling musician, you will still want this along with your other types of tuners. As a matter of fact, I used it for my Oud (an Arabic predecessor of the lute instrument). You'll love it! Take care and keep playing :)
Great Tuner February 3, 2010 A. Vanderklis This tuner was very easy to use. The display is clear and being able to attach the tuner to the guitar was much better than having to sit it in front of you. Also a great value.
Very cool March 28, 2010 AD This is a great little tuner. We bought it to tune a lever harp - works like a champ. Just clip it on the soundboard and we can tune the whole harp in about 2 minutes. Impressive. There are a few strings, at the very top and the very bottom, that it sometimes takes a few plucks to register, but really, that's no big deal. I don't think it makes the product lousy. Just pluck it a few times until it registers, what's the big deal?
Great product, great price, fast shipping = great purchase.
Excellent guitar tuner May 2, 2010 Charles Grall (Sequim, WA) If you only have one tuner this is the one you want. It is cheap to buy, easy to use, and small and out of the way if you leave it on the neck. I have lots of tuners and this is my favorite, even though it costs less than the others. Highly recommend.
